and San Miguel Markets :
Pesto
Recipe
2
cups tightly packed basil leaves (stripped from the stems and washed
and dried)
2
teaspoons chopped garlic
¾
to 1 cup olive oil
¼
cup pine nuts
¾
cup grated dry cheese like romano, mozzarella, parmesan
Use
a food processor: Process basil and garlic first add rest of ingredients.
Process until preferred consistency. Chill or serve.
Fruit
Smoothie
Using fresh ripe fruit of your choice:
1. Peaches, watermelon, grapes, cantaloupe, etc. wash & pit
about 4 cups of fruit.
2. Put it in a heavy duty blender and process until very smooth.
Add about 4 cups of ice and blend again until smooth.
3. Serve - Very Refreshing.
Options to add: milk or half& half, fruit juice, sparkling water,
club soda, or banana for thickener.

Gazpacho
Recipe
Using
only fresh vegetables from the market or your garden: In a
heavy duty blender, process until very smooth the following:
1. Avocados peeled & pitted
2. Tomatoes
3. Red onion
4. Garlic
5. Cucumber
6. Celery
7. Pepper of your choice & quantity
Add salt, pepper a little hot sauce and ice.Continue to blend
until thick and cold. Serve immediately.
